Frequently Ask Questions

GreenPlay Foundation offers a holistic approach to addressing various challenges faced by disadvantaged youth in Nairobi’s Eastlands areas. We use football as a tool for social change, provide a safe space for over 500 football teams, and educate children about the impacts of climate change, the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and the importance of sustainability. Additionally, we engage in environmental conservation initiatives, support the planting of trees, conduct clean-up campaigns, and promote plastic recycling. Our foundation also aligns with key SDGs such as quality education, no poverty, gender equality, zero hunger, and climate action.

GreenPlay Foundation supports the community through sports, particularly football, by providing a safe space for children from disadvantaged backgrounds to engage in positive activities. By participating in football tournaments and local leagues, children can forget their troubles and focus on building a better future. Through football, we aim to reduce crime, combat drug abuse, and empower youth to make a positive impact in their communities.

GreenPlay Foundation is committed to environmental conservation and sustainability. We support tree planting initiatives and engage youth in planting trees across slum areas such as Mathare, Huruma, Kariobangi, Korogocho, and Babadogo. Additionally, we conduct clean-up campaigns to create a cleaner environment for the benefit of current and future generations. Our foundation also promotes plastic recycling, providing employment opportunities for idle youth and addressing plastic pollution in slum areas.

GreenPlay Foundation actively contributes to several SDGs, including quality education (SDG 4), no poverty (SDG 1), gender equality, zero hunger, and climate action (SDG 13). Through our initiatives, we engage youth in meaningful activities, provide education on sustainability, and support disadvantaged families with stipends and food assistance. Our foundation is committed to addressing local challenges and contributing to global sustainable development efforts.

The goal of GreenPlay Foundation’s tree planting initiative was multifaceted. Firstly, we aimed to combat climate change by mitigating its effects through the planting of trees. Secondly, we sought to promote environmental awareness and engage youth in environmental conservation efforts. Additionally, we aimed to beautify and green the slum areas of Nairobi, creating a healthier and more sustainable environment for residents.
